Patrick graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1998, winning the award for Excellence in Operative Dentistry. He subsequently joined the Royal Air Force as a Dental Officer and completed his foundation training at RAF Cottesmore in Rutland, before managing dental centres at RAF units within Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire for the next nine years. During this time, he also passed the Royal College of Surgeons’ MFGDP (UK) examination.
Patrick was then assigned to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus for three years to head up its dental centre, where he treated MoD personnel and their families. Returning to the UK in late 2009, Patrick was selected for enhanced training at the Eastman Dental Institute – one of Europe’s leading postgraduate hospitals – where he completed a Masters Degree in Endodontics (root canal treatment). Patrick subsequently led the dental centres at RAF Marham and more recently RAF Brize Norton, the UK’s largest RAF dental centre, where, as one of only two endodontists working in the military, he accepted referrals, from dentists, for root canal treatment from across the UK and as far afield as the Falklands.
During his 16-year career in the RAF, Patrick also served in the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Germany and locations in the Middle East; where one of his fond highlights was providing root canal treatment on a police dog! In 2011, Patrick was recognised as a Dentsply endodontic trainer and has gone on to lecture and deliver group and personal training for other dentists. He takes pride in providing compassionate root canal care to a very high standard and also has a keen interest in cosmetic restorative treatments.
Patrick lives locally with his young family.
